Rocky's Diner (2017)

For Sarah McLeod’s fourth solo album, Rocky’s Diner (2017), the creative direction drew inspiration from classic American diners while reinterpreting the aesthetic for a contemporary audience. The goal was to honour the vintage era without leaning into cliché, resulting in artwork that balances subtle retro cues with a modern edge.

The central neon sign element became a versatile motif anchoring the CD and vinyl sleeves while extending seamlessly into digital and social media assets. By desaturating the background and highlighting the neon, the design naturally directed focus to the album title, amplifying its visual impact.

This project posed the challenge of aligning the album’s diverse tracks with a cohesive diner-inspired visual identity, ultimately producing bold, memorable artwork that reflected both Sarah’s music and the Americana influence.
