In 2022, Global Poker launched the fourth iteration of its annual MicroThunder tournament series. The campaign visuals were built around the tournament’s bold logo; a fist gripping a thunderbolt, which lent itself to a flat, graphic style. This 2D aesthetic established a strong brand identity for the series, but also posed the challenge of keeping the motion design engaging without breaking from the visual language.

To solve this, I leveraged 3D camera work within After Effects to add energy and depth while maintaining the flat graphic look. By introducing suspenseful pacing and surprising transitions, the video reflected the tension and unpredictability of a poker game, elevating the static aesthetic into a dynamic, immersive piece. The result balanced brand consistency with visual excitement, helping MicroThunder IV stand out in Global Poker’s tournament calendar.
