Rocky's Diner (2017)

Lead singer of Aussie rock band The Superjesus, Sarah McLeod released her 4th solo album Rocky’s Diner in 2017. With a strong reference to the American diner aesthetic, the design approach aimed to modernise the reference whilst respecting the vintage era. Although the cover artwork subtly alludes to the retro reference, a combination of Sarah’s music and American diners influenced the production of the final design.

The neon sign provided much versatility in producing both the CD and the vinyl sleeves, as well as social media content. Furthermore, by desaturating the image bar the neon sign, a natural vector is established towards that of the album title.

The overall project provided many design challenges in marrying the music tracks with the desired American diner aesthetic, however resulted with powerful album artwork.
